These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Maskly ("the App"), provided by ZAWA SYSTEM ("the Operator"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
The App does not require account registration or sign-in. You use the App on a per-device basis.
The App automatically detects and masks personal information in photos and screenshots. It provides:
The App is provided free of charge. The number of masking operations per month is limited, and additional quota can be earned by watching rewarded advertisements. Advertisements (Google AdMob) are displayed within the App. If paid plans are introduced in the future, these Terms will be updated and you will be notified within the App in advance.
The App may use Google's Gemini AI to detect items such as license plates and ID cards. Use of Gemini AI requires your explicit consent through an in-app dialog.
If you decline, the App will rely solely on on-device detection (Google ML Kit). You can withdraw your consent at any time from the Settings screen.

The App is intended to assist with personal-information masking. Detection accuracy has limits, and the App does not guarantee detection of every piece of personal information. For critical masking tasks, you are strongly advised to visually verify and apply manual masks as needed.
Except where prohibited by applicable law, the Operator shall not be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, leakage of personal information or secondary harm) arising from use of the App or from missed detections. This limitation does not apply where the damage is caused by the Operator's willful misconduct or gross negligence, or where the limitation is invalidated in whole or in part by mandatory consumer protection laws (including Article 8 of the Japanese Consumer Contract Act).
Where the Operator is liable under applicable law or these Terms, such liability shall be limited to ordinary damages (excluding lost profits and damages arising from special circumstances) and shall not exceed the total amount paid by the user to the Operator in connection with the App during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim (JPY 1,000 for users on the free tier).

The Operator may modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue the App. When discontinuing the service, the Operator will endeavor to provide reasonable advance notice. However, temporary suspension or feature changes may occur without prior notice in cases of emergency maintenance, security concerns, or changes in third-party services such as Gemini AI.
The Operator may update these Terms. Updated Terms take effect upon posting on this page. For material changes that adversely affect users, the Operator will announce the changes within the App or on this page at least 30 days before the effective date. If you do not discontinue use (e.g., by uninstalling the App) during the notice period, you are deemed to have accepted the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising in connection with the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
